JUST DO IT!!
I wasn't hestitant at all about ordering this dvd! I know it's mind over matter. Yes It's hard...but worth it! My husband and I both are on the program together. I am a 31 years old and a stay at home of two. I am 5 feet 102 lbs. I AM NOT DOING THIS PROGRAM TO LOSE WEIGHT! I am however doing this to get muscle tone (especially in the stomach area).
My husband is 5'11" tall and 190 lbs. He wants to tone as well.
We've been following the diet and exercise program religiously and after three days, my husband lost 4 lbs and I can see my abs!
We've only been doing this program for 2 weeks and LOVE it. Seeing the results so quickly make us keep on going.
Neither of us are P90X graduates. Listen to the advice of Shaun T: 1.)go at our own pace and 2.) frequently take breaks.

I have played basketball, tennis, golf and soccer consistently throughout my life; I also attend a gym almost daily, live an active lifestyle and had a personal trainer for almost 3 months this past summer (longer than Insanity takes). I eat well (especially for a college student), but do drink a bit to cancel out some hard workout time. However, I have NEVER had results like I have with this DVD. I push myself when working out, especially when I'm with others who challenge me further, so this DVD set was right up my alley.

Initially, the workout was a little intimidating and I had a hard time keeping up, but it was supportive to see that the workout was giving a good challenge even to people with ripped bodies - that told me that I would never get bored with this workout because I would always have something to work to. Plus there's always room to "dig deeper!" Furthermore, there's a woman in her 40's on his team - at 21 and in active shape I should be able to keep up!

Shaun T presents a very intense, diversified and energetic workout that has left me feeling much stronger, more flexible and with greater stamina. Lastly, when I get out of a late class or work and the gym is closed, these DVDs are always ready to go no matter the time of day. I recommend this to any one looking for an incredible workout - as Shaun T would say, "it's insanity!"

I run regularly- generally 45 minutes to an hour 3-4 times a week. I bought this hoping to step up my exercise and it delivers. I've been disappointed by other fitness DVD's that are easy after the first few times or too complicated to follow. The warm up on this one is harder than most fitness DVD's are all together.

This one is great- the workouts are simple to follow, but really hard. I need to take breaks and modify exercises at times, but I still feel I get a killer workout. Truth be told, I'd be disappointed if I didn't struggle the first few times. I feel like I am getting a great total body workout- the plank work is helping my upper body, something running does not address and the plyo jumps are taxing my legs in a good way. The stretching is good as well.

I will say- I have some back issues but a week into this and my back is not hurting. I think this DVD is not for a "first time exerciser", but if you have a level of fitness and some idea of how to modify exercises on your own, you'll get use out of this. For example- if jump squats are killing me, I might do the last 10 seconds as regular squats. I look forward to being able to match Shaun jump for jump!

And this is a great workout- it leaves me good sore and good tired. I'd put the exertion up there with a 10 mile run in terms of what it takes out of my body. It also includes a sensible looking eating plan.

I am 47 years old and female. I was in a car accident in 2000 that really messed up my upper and middle back. I also had neck and shoulder injuries. Prior to this, I was doing 2 a days and working through a tougher routine than this--because it was 2 intense programs back to back. I will not sugar coat this. This work out is tough, but it builds up the muscles so that my injuries are no longer running my life. I've seen great results--my abs are ripping and I have lost weight. I recommend a physical prior to starting, but I will be the first to forwarn you: THIS IS NO EASY WORKOUT. If you are looking for fluff, you won't get it here! This is as intense as P90X, I think--minus pullups and sit ups. This workout rips the abs and kicks butt--also resulting in losing inches! If you've got bad joint problems, I think you are better off with a program called Chalean Extreme--which is an adaptable workout to your physical needs--I did that one also with good results! If you want to take back your life one inch at a time, one pound at a time--then this workout is great! You can take breaks as needed--Sean T. tells you to do so--especially IF YOUR FORM STARTS TO FAIL! It will take a while to get the cuing down because he starts off at a reasonable pace to teach the moves, and then repeats sequences--building up speed as he goes. You will be dripping sweat from the warm up!

Piece of advice--do not skip breaks and do not skip the warm-ups and stretching. You'll feel like you are dying without that! You need to keep a ton of water handy too and a towel. If you have joint issues--this probably isn't for you, however it isn't bothering me. If you have joint pain at all--I say pick another program. I love this one!

First at all I like to say that I bought this DVD collection as an Import because I live in Germany and this product is not meant for the german market so far. I`ve read that some people have problems with playing the discs. So far I can say that I do not have these problems.
I`ve done Billy Blanks before and thought I can easily switch to Insanity - deffinetly not.
Insanity is a 60 day workout that is linked to maximum fitness results. I`m in week four now and have to say that this is really intense. Four weeks ago when I started this workout I knew that it would be intense, but I never thought that it would be such an incredible sweaty affair.
In month 1 you do workouts with a running time of 40 minutes. Actually these workouts are about 25 minutes, because you do stretching and have water breaks of 30 seconds. It is hard to believe that you can get in shape in 25 minutes, right? I can tell you that I burned 557kcal in 25 minutes. Shaun T says you can burn up to 1000kcal. I think this is deffinetly possible, especially when we think of the workouts in month two which have a running time of an hour. I`ve done the Pure cardio workout + Cardio abs today (week 4 day 1) and I burned 673kcal.
Talking about a diet: You can not take a diet! Please, don`t do this to your body. Your body needs a normal healthy nutrition to refuel energy. If you want to do a diet then you shouldn`t do Insanity. The right formula is to change nutrition. Eat right - feel right. The nutrition plan is a great opportunity to get some ideas of how to do that. In my opinion you do not need protein shakes! Instead of protein shakes I eat tuna and cottage cheese. Eat some eggs (not too many) and combine it with a fresh salad. Salads are always welcome.
Especially tuna has a huge amount of proteins! Furthermore I recommend oatmeal in the morning in combination with peach and milk. Eat some veggies and fruits among your meals. According to the Insanity nurtrition plan you should eat five meals a day. Sounds very complicated but it`s deffintely manageable.
So far (week 4 day 1) I lost about 10,4 lbs. I`m very happy about it but have to say that this workout is deffintely not for everybody. If you have knee issues you shouldn`t do this workout because you do a lot of jumps and a lot of other knee work. You will feel the change immediately but you will see the results at about week two. Your body needs to prepare for the great change so don`t be disappointed if you don`t see the "great changes" in three days. Your muscles will change too! You don`t need extra weights for this workout because you do a lot of push ups and you work your arms all the time.
You will feel very tired - that is absolutely normal! Please make sure to sleep enough because your body needs this rest to recover and to build muscles, furthermore you burn fat while you sleep.
Last thing: Please stay motivated! As I said before this workout is really intense, especially the first week is a hard drill. This is normal because your body gets confronted with unknown moves. You will always sweat like ;-)
As long as you focus on your mind and your will it`s gonna be okay. One important thing at all: Go at your own speed at your own pace. You are always allowed to take a break - do it.
